Justchuckn 3 round Mock Draft with Trades/Free Agency Assumptions

2017.04.14 19:42 justchuckn Justchuckn 3 round Mock Draft with Trades/Free Agency Assumptions

I had the day off from work and decided to finalize a mock draft i've been building. I have a lot of thoughts on the picks but i will keep them brief and try and answer any comments. Link to Mock
This Mock is based off some Free agency Assumptions *Cutler signs with the Jets *Butler does not get traded *Sherman does not get traded *Lynch goes to the Raiders for a 5th round pick *Peterson and Kaep dont get picked up until after the draft
Summery of each Teams Picks are below Browns 1.1) Myles Garrett Texas A&M EDGE 1.12) Mitchell Trubisky North Carolina QB 2.33)Marcus Maye Florida S 3.65) Curtis Samuel Ohio State WR 3.68) Raekwon McMillan Ohio State LB Browns get the best overall pick and a potential franchise qb while trading down with their second 2nd round pick and collecting a couple of Ohio State boys that adds a Percy harvin like weapon and linebacker depth
49er's 1.2) DeShone Kizer Notre Dame QB 2.34) Montravius Adams Auburn DL 3.66) Alvin Kamara Tennessee RB I dont think there is much separating the top 3 QB's but Kizer has a strong pocket presence that Shannahan will find useful. I think Kizer will surprise a lot of people this year. outside of QB the 49ers just need to grab the best available And they snag a good run defender and a pass catching back to help Kizer and Hyde rest
Bears 1.3)Jamal Adams LSU S 1.28)Malik McDowell Michigan State DL 3.67)Brad Kaaya Miami (Fla.) QB The Bears seem set on going defense in the first Taking jamal Adams over Hooker and Thomas and then trading back into the first to grab Mcdowell. This will set a good foundation for the defense and Kaaya has the potential to learn and have a shot as a starter
Jags 1.4)O.J. Howard Alabama TE 2.35)Marlon Humphrey Alabama CB 2.52)D'Onta Foreman Texas RB I am all in on the OJ Howard hype train. I think this pick gives the jags better blocking and a future elite weapon for Bortles. Fournette would be a great option here as well I just believe OJ Howard would make the Offense more balanced and help Bortles grow. Jags also add secondary help and trade back into the second for Foreman to really solidfy the offense
Panthers 1.5)Leonard Fournette LSU RB 2.40)Sidney Jones Washington CB 3.98) George Kittle Iowa TE Panthers trade up for Fournette. They have made it very clear that Fournette is the goal in the draft while also picking up some secondary help with Sidney Jones falling due to injury and the best blocking TE in the draft.
Jets 1.6)Malik Hooker Ohio State S 2.39)Cordrea Tankersley Clemson CB 3.70)Nathan Peterman Pittsburgh QB 3.107)Dalvin Tomlinson Alabama DT Jets Add Hooker and Tankersley to help Pyror in the secondary. The Jets shead all the bad contracts this off season and just need to take whatever talent becomes available to them. They also take Peterman as a possible future starter
Colts 1.7)Solomon Thomas Stanford EDGE 3.80)Jourdan Lewis Michigan CB The Colts defense is beyond terrible. They dont only need some new players they need a young superstar to turn it around. They are a fringe playoff team and trading up for Solomon Thomas might be the boost they need. Colts also snag a very good slot corner
Titans 1.8)Marshon Lattimore Ohio State CB 1.18)Corey Davis Western Michigan WR 2.64)Gerald Everett South Alabama TE 3.83)Eddie Jackson Alabama S 3.100)Dawuane Smoot Illinois EDGE Titans just grab talent up and down the board. The best CB and potential best WR with a lot of high ceiling guys in the next few rounds. The future looks bright after they cash in on the assets they have collected.
Bengals 1.9)Ruben Foster Alabama LB 2.41)Jordan Willis Kansas State EDGE 3.73)Marcus Williams Utah S Bengals pull in a nice defensive haul with this draft. They are a team that has some potential but Marvin Lewis is on the hot seat. They need to regain their defensive form from a few years ago and get some playoff wins to save his job.
Broncos 1.10)Jonathan Allen Alabama DL 3.82)Trey Hendrickson Florida Atlantic EDGE 3.101)Corn Elder Miami (FL) CB This comes as the first big surprise for the draft. Elway is an aggressive GM and their run defense has been their weakness. If they can sure up that issue and with their current secondary they will be a team that can go deep in the playoffs regardless of whos QB. Jonathan Allen starts to fall so the broncos bull the trigger and move up to take him. Also snagging some good athletic depth players.
Saints 1.11)Derek Barnett Tennessee EDGE 1.32)Kevin King Washington CB 2.42)Jarrad Davis Florida LB 3.76)Samaje Perine Oklahoma RB 3.103)Chad Wheeler USC C/G The saints might have the best class this year. 3 quality starts on D and Perine a promising young RB for their offense
Cardinals 1.13)Deshaun Watson Clemson QB 2.45)Caleb Brantley Florida DL 3.77)Ahkello Witherspoon Colorado CB Arizona needs a future starter. They have plenty of other needs but i think Watson can work with Arians system the best out of the remaining Qb's. Arizona also adresses line depth issues and adds a corner to play against Peterson
Eagles 1.14)Christian McCaffrey Stanford RB 2.43)Tanoh Kpassagnon Villanova DL 3.99)Malachi Dupre LSU WR Eagles add some offensive weapons for Wentz and hometown boy Kpassagnon. Philly will boo the pick regardless. I'm on the mcCaffrey over cook hype train. He reminds me of the old bills RB Fred Jackson but with more speed and natural vision
Chargers 1.15)Forrest Lamp Western Kentucky G 2.38)Obi Melifonwu UConn S 2.46)Cam Robinson Alabama OT 3.71)Fabian Moreau UCLA CB Chargers trade down and grab Lamp the best OL this draft. Also address the safety issue after missing out on Hooker and Adams. They stop the Cam Robinson slide.
Ravens 1.16)Takkarist McKinley UCLA EDGE 2.47)Chris Godwin Penn State WR 3.74)Desmond King Iowa S 3.78)Cooper Kupp Eastern Washington WR Ravens draft the Takk attack to eventually replace suggs and some wide receivers to help stimulate one of the worst offenses in the league last year.
Redskins 1.17)Mike Williams Clemson WR 2.49)Adoree' Jackson USC CB 3.81)Derek Rivers Youngstown EDGE It might not be their biggest need but Mike Williams falls in the redskins lap so they take him along with a corner to put next to Norman/add a KR and a pass rusher with a lot of athleticism and upside
Buccaneers 1.19)Budda Baker Washington S 2.50)Carlos Henderson Louisiana Tech WR 3.84)Joe Mixon Oklahoma RB Some might consider this a reach but i think if you cant take him with your next pick its not a reach. Baker is a quality safety that would be regarded a much higher pick in another class. Bucs also grab a great young WR and take a chance on the infamous Joe Mixon
Bills 1.20)Quincy Wilson Florida CB 2.44)Zay Jones East Carolina WR 2.51)T.J. Watt Wisconsin EDGE 3.75)Roderick Johnson FSU T The bills are another team that just needs to grab the best talent available to them with so many different position needs.
Lions 1.21)Charles Harris Missouri EDGE 2.53)Pat Elflein Ohio State G/C 3.85)JuJu Smith-Schuster USC WR The lions drab a pass rusher to but across from Ziggy and as a potential replacement if he takes money elsewhere in the next few years. Lions also grab offensive line help and stop JuJu's fall
Dolphins 1.22)Haason Reddick Temple LB 2.54)Dan Feeney Indiana G/C 3.97)Noah Brown Ohio State WR Dolphins address their LB need and offensive line. And its not their biggest need but this gives Gase a speedy WR to play with.
Giants 1.23)Dalvin Cook FSU RB 2.55)Antonio Garcia Troy OT 3.93Bucky Hodges Virginia Tech TE Giants dont look a gifted horse in the mouth and take Cook and address some other offensive issues.
Raiders 1.24)Gareon Conley Ohio State CB 2.56)Evan Engram Ole Miss TE 3.88)Vince Biegel Wisconsin LB Its such a shame the Raiders are moving especially with this young team they are building. But They add Conley as a steal along with a very athletic Tight end that is essentially another WR and LB depth to give Mack some rest
Texans 1.25)Patrick Mahomes Texas Tech QB 2.57)Taywan Taylor Western Kentucky WR 3.89)Rasul Douglas West Virginia CB Texans snag everyones favorite Mahomes and slot WR that Bill Obrian has had much successes with in the past ala Wes Welker.
Seahawks 1.26)Garett Bolles Utah T 2.58)Chidobe Awuzie Colorado CB 3.90)Joe Mathis Washington EDGE 3.102)Anthony Walker Jr. Northwestern LB 3.106)KD Cannon Baylor WR Maybe after taking an olineman they will run the ball at the 1 yard line. Would not be surprised if the seahawks use some of these picks to move up in he draft
Chiefs 1.27)Jabrill Peppers Michigan S 2.59)Zach Cunningham Vanderbilt LB 3.91)Marlon Mack South Florida RB 3.104)Larry Ogunjobi Charlotte DT Ill admit the Peppers pick is selfish on my part. I just think that with a creative coach like Andy Reid he will utilize Peppers to his maximum ability and would love to see it. Plus with the Cunningham selection they don't have to force him into one spot. and even use him on offense in gadget plays with Tyreek Hill
Packers 1.29)Tre'Davious White LSU CB 2.61)DeMarcus Walker Florida State DE 3.87)Jamaal Williams BYU RB Packers address some needs on Defense first then trades a few spots up to grab the best remaining RB
Steelers 1.30)Ryan Ramczyk Wisconsin T 2.62)Davis Webb California QB 3.94)Ryan Anderson Alabama EDGE 3.105)Jeremy McNichols Boise State RB Steelers go with the safe pick in the firt and grab Webb in the second to learn under Big Ben who has made it clear he does not plan on playing much longer after this season if at all. McNichols is good to have behind bell in case he goes down with injury which has been a tendency and Bell has also expressed interest in leaving after the tag situation.
Falcons 1.31)Taco Charlton Michigan EDGE 2.63)Dion Dawkins Temple OT 3.95)Cameron Sutton Tennessee CB Nothing to special here just finding value where they can.
Cowboys 2.36)David Njoku Miami (FL) TE 2.60)Justin Evans Texas A&M S 3.92)Josh Reynolds Texas A&M WR Cowboys trade down and collect Assets while also adding some offensive weapons to help Precott continue his development
Rams 2.37)John Ross Washington WR 3.69)Teez Tabor Florida CB Rams make it out okay after getting two prospects that were/are considered first rounders despite not having one
Vikings 2.48)Ethan Pocic LSU G 3.79)Carl Lawson Auburn DE 3.86)Wayne Gallman Clemson RB Vikings try and help their awful Oline and grab value where they can
Patriots 3.72)Tyus Bowser Houston EDGE 3.96)Julie'n Davenport Bucknell OT Patriots grab Bowser a player that can fit really well into that jamie collins roleand future Oline
